It is not a the thread about Allnic but LCR RIAA correctors, still there was something expressed in here about the Allnic LCR phonocorrector… and I feel bad about it. It is not that I don’t think that Allnic LCR phono...

I think 99% of audio designers try to solve problems on paper (objective model).Mr.weiss try to loss less when design a volume control but non of them pay attention to musicality of sound.market do not like to say what new approach loose and they jus...

Romy,I would like to know, if you do not mind to explain, since you cannot drive your bass modules using SET, why you use Solid State amplifiers instead Pentode or Push-Pull Triode?Thanks!...

Romy, doesn't Tim de P also use this cool Miller capacitance idea in his never-mentioned "high end" tubed corrector? Also, do I remember reading that he runs both channels through the two halves of the same twin-triode 9-pi...
I'm listening now and the sound is quite good in my opinion. Ma is plying from WGBH's studio in Boston so I presume they are carrying the stream as well. He is on for one more hour.
I did not get the feeling that he wa...
2. Offer to build and sell the full-range Melquiades by custom order. I know you have various reasons to put the Melq in the public domain and not build it for money, but you could leave the "plans" here on GSC and still sel...

Sounds like a great tube. Stu just found a bunch in his stash and asked about them on asylum - totally unrelated to this post. Gold pins, superb construction, etc. So it must be something special. Could be great for your mic p...

That 8233 might do it. Also noticed the 6CL6 in triode mode will get you almost there, but only a mu of 20. The 6688 could be a substitute.jh...

To get 17W per KT88 in SE, I think it must be pentode or ultralinear operation. Triode-connected in A1, I think a KT88 can only make 10-11W max (plated dissipation limit is 44W.) So it probably uses feedback, but that is still not automatically a b...

This is by Hans Beijner. His site is: http://www.tubetvr.com/In 1976 a Mig 25 fighter jet landed in Hokkaido in Japan, it was flown by a soviet military pilot that wanted to defect to the west. This was a real field day for western miltary peopl...
I wonder what would be the 7721’s plate impedance at 12mA
According to the chart on the last page of data sheet, I'd say roughly 2.4k (as a triode). You can always add resistance in parallel with the load.jh...

I never knew that Quicksilver does 6C33C, they never did when I was still monitoring what companies do. Their Triode Amp was, if I remember correctly, a base PP unit with a pair triode strapped 6L6/KT-88 tubes, where people were trying to put-in many...

You could always pull the grid low on the unused triode section. And ground the cathode. That would prevent stripping, I believe. Just bias it to -100V or whatever.jh...

Some facts:The Japanese horn scene uses colored amps like 300B and prefers to buy Japanese amps.American horns are mostly slightly modified pro gear, quite a bit away from the price range Lamm has in mind, so the market there is not larger than that ...

...he uses one section of the 6SN7 for gain, the other as a cathode follower to provide current drive to the grid of the output tube. On some of his monoblocks he uses a dissimilar dual triode like a 6DN7 or 6EM7 this way, with the lower gain-lower ...
Romy, any information out there for a set of Power / Audio output Trans/ for a Single-Ended 6336B Monoblock project? Thanks, The Paragons
The 6336B is twin triode, I have seen some peoples is it but I personally have ...
Consider a triode connected 13E1. 95W dissipation, will probably work beautifully with the existing OPT if you adjust the gap down and if you can rewire your arrays to present a somewhat higher impedance.Something like 400V-450V / 2...

I looked at the schematic for Herb's 300B SET many years ago. It's been copied and slightly modified by many.... personally, I would not use it for a 300B amp... then again I probably wouldn't use it for a 2A3 or 45 either (I think my input/driver d...

Well... tis for all reading/following this thread. As Romy pointed out, having high gain is not the same as power. And as Adrian hinted at... the overall system paradigm is important. If you're only barely cracking the volume control on yo...

guy, i noticed you've mentioned a DHT 10Y linestage.i'm wondering what are your thoughts if there is a relatively easily obtainable (in say lifetime quantities:)) DHT (or triode stripped DHP or DH tetrode a la 307A or 807) capable of d...

Yeah, so the closeness of the grids results in a higher current gain. So what? What is the relationship between gain and sonics? Are you saying that all high gm tubes sound better than low gm tubes? And does that include 300B ...
